The reason you started playing football?

I was always drawn to kicking a football around when I was younger, even when my family didn’t really have a footballing background. I think I kept playing because it’s one of the most technically creative sports you can play, so you can never stop learning or trying new things with the ball.

Best piece of advice given to you?

I’m not sure who said it, however ‘hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard’.

Greatest moment in your career?

Representing Liverpool FC in the under 19 champions league at Anfield and representing Australia at under 17 level at a World Cup.

Biggest impact on your career?

I’d say my parents, just by being very supportive of my ambitions in football all the way through, never feeling any pressure from them and just telling me to keep playing as long as you’re enjoying it.

Best advice you can give to up and coming youngsters?

Control the controllable’s by focusing on improving your own ability each day and the rest will take care of itself.
