The reason you started playing football?

My kindergarten teacher in Malaysia introduced me to football by giving me a ball and a small goal when I was 4 simply because I was too energetic.

Best piece of advice given to you?

For me personally the best piece of advice is to have other interests away from the game. I love football but I think it’s important to have a good life balance and have other things that you gain enjoyment from.

Greatest moment in your career?

My greatest moment was either scoring my first A-League goal for Gold Coast United vs North Queensland Fury when I was 19 or playing my 100th A-league game for Perth Glory last season.

Biggest impact on your career?

My career success has been down to my parents. They have taught me all the life lessons and character traits that have made me a successful person and athlete. They sacrificed so much to allow me to play football when I was younger.

Best advice you can give to up and coming youngsters?

My own personal advice would be to forever try and better yourself. Never be content in football as if you have the mindset to improve, you will not only be more successful but you will also be more fulfilled as a person knowing you are achieving as much as you can.
